4 weddings and a llama….

It’s been an incredibly busy six months, and I hadn’t realised it had been so long since I wrote my last post.  I’ve been very busy getting  acquainted with my new gear and am completely hooked!  It’s fair to say I pretty much eat, sleep and breathe photography and am a little bit obsessed!  It’s a good job my very supportive boyfriend also has a more than a passing interest in photography and it’s such a joy to be sharing this voyage of discovery with him!

The busy period kicked off with Angela and Eddy’s country house wedding at Shrigley Hall.  We couldn’t have asked for a more beautifully dressed venue.

Next, I went on to quirky wedding venue #2 the Wellbeing Farm Wedding venue held their Quirky Wedding Fayre in October – this was a treasure chest for someone who absolutely loves to shoot the details, from the bridal boutique’s display of vintage finery; to pink cocoa’s stunning display of wedding cakes.  I shouldn’t forgot to mention an impromptu fashion shoot by the tractor and the friendly welcome from the resident llamas – complete with bow ties. I absolutely loved this event and was so pleased with some of the images I got.

As November rolled around we were into party season and kicked off with Daniel’s 21st birthday at the Loft in Stockton Heath and then a celebration marking Dayna and Adam’s engagement in Cheadle, with plate smashing and lighting of the hanukkah candles to boot.

On to December and a wedding marathon starting with Emma and Allan in Grappenahall, then onto Sarah and Barry in Tameside, finishing the year off with a New Year’s Eve-Eve wedding bash in Bury for Glenn and Tracey.  I absolutely loved photographing christmas wedding details shots – with mistlestoe hanging above the doorway and twinkly lights at every turn, it produced some lovely light bokeh (which I adore)! The other great thing is that wedding guests are in an extra festive party mood and gave us that little bit extra to work with on the dancefloor!

January was then spent chained to my PC editing – which was very, very hard! Although I did find time to photograph Amaya’s first birthday at the Sanam banqueting hall in Stockport – with all the stops pulled out for a fantastic celebration; as well as Angela and Martin’s joint 40th party in Orrell.

I’m only just beginning to have a little bit of breathing space.  This weekend just gone, we had the privelege of photographing Sarah and Olly’s sunflower themed wedding at Styal Lodge, and I cannot wait to get on with editing the images.  Watch this space and thanks for reading!xxx
